La grazia

The Tartu premiere of "La grazia" on February 5 is followed by a discussion with Eva Piirimäe, the professor of Political Theory at Tartu University. 

"La grazia" is a new feature film by acclaimed director Paolo Sorrentino ("The Great Beauty", "The Hand of God", "Parthenope"), which follows the fictional Italian president Mariano De Santis. At the end of his term he is conflicted about whether he should sign into law a new bill, and at the same time has to consider two pardon petitions. These decisions come into conflict with his personal convictions as a Catholic and a widower. The doubtful president must decide and with a deep sense of responsibility he will.
