“Lisbon Story” centers around sound engineer Philip Winter, who arrives in Lisbon at the invitation of his director friend Friedrich Monroe to record sound for Monroe’s new film. However, upon arriving, Winter discovers that Monroe has mysteriously vanished—leaving behind only a few reels of footage shot with a handheld camera. Not wanting to waste time idly, Philip begins working independently, recording local soundscapes and, in the process, falling in love with singer Teresa. When Monroe finally reappears, his perspective on the current state of cinema has changed, and he carries with him entirely new concepts
