Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior

Former lawman Max Rockatansky has lost everything he once held dear. Having avenged his family, he no longer has any clear purpose in life other than roaming the desolate highways of a dystopian Australia in search of food and fuel. Suddenly, Max’s survival routine is disrupted by a small community under threat from violent hooligans. Now that fuel is more valuable than gold, Max agrees to help them and face off against the feral bandits.
Premiering in 1981 and smashing box office records, the sci-fi classic Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior—directed by George Miller and starring Mel Gibson—was a breakthrough film for both men. As a sequel to their 1979 debut Mad Max, this film differs significantly in both style and visual tone. The Road Warrior sweeps viewers into an explosively savage war across the wastelands, where crazed leather-clad tyrants, loyal companions (including a dog!), and a reluctant Max—who'd rather avoid humanity altogether—battle for survival.
