Mida me pimeduses teeme
It is the story of four housemates who also happen to be vampires. The alpha ladies' man Vladislav (Jemaine Clement), sentimental dandy Viago (Taika Waititi), loose-living bad boy Deacon (Jonny Brugh), and spooky Petyr (Ben Fransham) have been living together for the past century. Their reasons for it are primarily practical (saving on utility bills). They have been born in different centuries, but are united by nightlife, drinking of virgin blood, fighting with werewolves, and their interest in modern technology. Forced by circumstance, they introduce the charms of vampire life to the green hipster-vampire Nick (Cori Gonzalez-Macuer).
The silliness of reality shows, males of all kinds, romance and familiar co-existence problems are mixed into a carefree mocumentary. The result is a really fun watch that teaches you a lot about vampires and makes your stomach hurt from laughter. Despite this group’s inevitable bloodlust and howling at the full moon, it is a very cheerful comedy that offers a lot of parallels with us human folk.
