Put Your Soul on Your Hand and Walk

Young charismatic Palestinian photographer Fatma Hassona and prominent Iranian director Sepideh Farsi never met. While eternal optimist Fatma documented bloody destruction of the Gaza Strip under fierce occupation and unforgiving attacks of Israeli army, Sepideh promoted her previous film “The Siren” and travelled to other places. They constantly talked through online calls interrupted by poor Wifi, weak connection or director's cat returns home in Paris. Sepideh filmed Fatma from her phone during their conversations. That's why we mostly see only her face. Fatma always smiled, downplayed all hazardous challenges and tried to be seen in a positive mood despite real threats at any minute. Sepideh and Fatma became best friends in long distance relationship chats. They shared personal secrets, opnions, dreams, daily experiences.
Sepideh’s documentary edited from these recordings, lively interviews, sincere talks was selected for Cannes. On the next day after announcement of the ACID selection Fatma and her family were brutally killed in regular Israeli air raid. Fatma was getting married. Heartbreakingly current, topical, unique documentary was also shown in Karlovy Vary, other festivals.
