Fargo
Minnesota, 1987. Car salesman Jerry Lundegaard (William H. Macy) is looking to hire two criminals, Carl (Steve Buscemi) and Gaear (Peter Stormare) to kidnap his wife Jean to extort the ransom money from her father Wade.
Local police chief Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) begins investigating Jean’s disappearance and the murders committed by the kidnappers. As Marge gets closer to the truth, Jerry’s plan starts to unravel and suddenly there’s more at stake than just Jean’s survival.
“Fargo” is one of the best-known examples of the Coen brothers’ collaboration and creative power as filmmakers. The film received 7 nominations at the 1997 Oscars and won two - Best Actress for McDormand and Best Original Screenplay for the Coens.
