Lethal Weapon

LAPD narcotics Sergeant Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) is distraught and suicidal after his wife’s death. To keep him in line, Riggs is partnered with stark and hardened homicide Sergeant Roger Murtagh (Danny Glover). During the Christmas season, Murtaugh is approached by his old veteran comrade Michael, who asks Murtaugh to help his daughter Amanda get away from drugs and back on the right track. Amanda’s sudden death however leads Murtaugh and Riggs to a whole network of crime and the hunt for the mysterious perpetrators also sets the detectives’ lives in danger.

“Lethal Weapon” was so successful that it spawned a whole franchise 3 sequels and helped redefine the buddy cop genre. The film is distinct in the world of action movies of the 1980s and 1990s and helped establish Gibson and Glover’s reputation as global movie stars.
