Short films "TIME EATERS"
After the screening on 26 November, there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers (in Estonian).
AJASÖÖJAD (TIME EATERS) is a programme of four award-winning short films that brings puppet animation and live action together in stories about people trying to hold on to what time quietly carries away: childhood, loved ones, and the selves they once were. Yet time always moves forward.
In Henri Veermäe's "Uka-uka", winner of the ARTE European Short Film Award at the prestigious Annecy animation festival, a child's uneventful summer opens a door to an entirely unexpected world.
Maria Reinup's "Arrhythmia", named Best Short Film at the 2026 Estonian Film and Television Awards, is a tender story about the moment we understand that neither time nor the people in our lives are forever.
Indrek Spungin's first live-action film, "Death Is Harder Than a Broken Heart", recognised at Hollywood Shortsfest, uses black humour and absurdity to lead us into a strange reality where disappearance takes on an entirely new meaning.
The journey concludes with Mari Kivi's "Time Eater", screened at festivals around the world: a surreal and poetic meditation on time, memory, and the longing to return to where it all began.
