Persona
A young psychiatric nurse Alma crosses paths with a famous actress Elisabeth Vogler, who is struggling with lacking the ability to speak. During the young actress's rehabilitation, Alma opens up to the nonverbal Elisabeth, telling her even the darkest and most personal of secrets. Bergman achieves a certain depth in his portrayal of women's psyche that is hard to come by in cinema. Idyllic views of Fårö island combine with Bergman's classic experimental shots. Each viewer could catch themselves with the feeling of melting into one with the movie, just like the personas of Alma and Elisabeth.
Ingmar Bergman's "Persona" is the cinema worker Mia's choice for Elektriteater 15th birthday program. In regards to leaving a personal mark and paving the path in cinematic history, Mia thinks that everybody should see this movie at least once in their lives.
