The soccer moms of a sugar-coated suburban town are in constant competition with each other, that of course hidden under a typical smarmy surface.

Jill (Jocelyn DeBoer) and Lisa (Dawn Luebbe) are BFFs (until they are not!?) in a community where all the adults wear braces in the pursuit of the most presentable smile and instead of cars, they drive golf carts. (Because playing golf is a status symbol? – No question there!) And of course, people there are all incredibly welcoming and full of joy of giving. Jill is so generous that she even gives away her newborn baby. She later regrets this act, but for completely different reasons than one might think.

This amazing ‘American dream’ bubble is only slightly disturbed by a tiny body swap incident and a crazy maniac who killed the local yoga teacher. Sounds fab, one might say! 😉

"Greener Grass" is also a strange phenomenon in the absurd cinema itself. The arbitrary copying and need to impress in that movie reality takes on the dimensions of hyperbolically hilarious satire. Reaching a very colorful grotesque, the film asks what is truly important and sacred in our lives. This is the debut film by Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe, in which the women themselves play zesty leads!
